Design*Sponge recently featured the quirky and creative Queen Anne Victorian home of touring musicians Darbie Nowatka and Justin Rice. When the duo is not touring with their band Bishop Allen, Justin writes and Darbie works as a graphic designer and makes jewellery and paper goods for her shop, Field Guide Design. Their home in Kingston, New York is filled with art, books, vinyl records, quirky collectables and vintage finds.

In response to the question “What I love most about my home is…” their answer had to be all the cherished curated items that they have collected during their travels (and adventures).

Design*Sponge recently featured the romantic Victorian-style home of Anna Potter florist and owner of Swallows of Damsons. Anna’s Instagram feed is a treasure trove of beautiful photos (and flowers) from her life and work in Sheffield, England and, after getting a peek inside her romantic studio and shop, Anna and her husband Dan, an illustrator, were kind enough to share their home with Design*Sponge. “What I love most about my home is the people I share it with.”

The design and décor blog, Design*Sponge, has a regular feature where they give you a “sneak peek” into the beautiful homes and interiors of ordinary folk. To accompany their home tour each homeowner is asked to complete the phrase: “What I love most about my home is…” They then style a handwritten note capturing their answer. The resulting quote is usually touching, creative and beautifully personal.

I’m endeavouring to share one quote of note each month… I already know a good deal of them will be for the “What I love most about my home…” section!
