The Writing’s On The Wall

Don’t you just love this toilet wall cladding – vintage newspaper clippings wallpaper. No need to bring a book or a mag with you. Taken the Facebook action of “writing on my wall” to the next level. Graphics captured and designed  by one of regulars, photographer Cara Saven. Don’t you just love this concept of personalising a favourite collection into unique wall covering. Vicki Sleet of I Want That used her collection of maps to cover the wall of her bathroom.

What would you like to see on your toilet or bathroom wall? Tell us – I would be more than interested to know. I can tell you what mine would possibly be – I love and collect books. Plus I love thrillers. Fancy seeing my favourite authors, their books and the stories on the wall. Have to be big and bold lettering for moi.

New Vintage

By Marica

You may recall the Cara Saven‘s beautiful Aqua Floral photographic series we featured on The Tabloid a few months back, well the wonderfully talented lady has done it again…

We were quite excited when Cara mailed us her latest series aptly named “Vintage”. The image range consist of various funky vintage & retro objects – my favourite is the old squash rackets. Cara has once again managed to produce something exceptionally beautiful and in keep with the nostalgia, vintage and up-cycling trend that is currently doing the rounds. Brava Cara!

Here is a quick preview of the series, for the whole range please check out Cara’s website: here.

Cara Saven Photography: Aqua Floral Series

By Marica

Rose and I just had to share these images from Cara Saven Photography with you. It’s a new series called Aqua Florals and we think it’s absolutely brilliant! So refreshingly beautiful.

I think the Protea Image is my favourite… but it is so hard to choose.

What I love about these images is that they are so fresh and deliciously summery.

The tranquil neutral hues of the water, a vibrant shock of colour from the flowers and then the subtle motion from the bubbles.

We have worked with Cara before on some of our previous projects and we just love her originality – she photographed custom images for our spaces that complimented the design as a whole. It’s just that final detailed touch to unify an interior.

Check out her website to view the rest of the images in this series. (Do it now! It’s a must. Do it!) Do take a glimpse at the rest of her portfolio – there are some remarkable images.

Oh, and she does amazing custom photographic wallpaper too!
