And we are officially back to the grind! We hope everyone had a lovely and rest-filled festive break. Let us kick off our first day back at the office by sharing some more snaps of our most recent projects, shall we? . Other than the reupholstered chair with the tribal-like monochromatic embroidered fabrics, another anchor element in our client's chic African-inspired apartment was the scatter cushions. She desired a whole pile of scatters for her hand-carved wooden bed from Ethiopia - all done in mud cloth. Mud cloth is a handmade cotton fabric from Mali traditionally dyed with fermented mud. The more contemporary versions feature black and white geometric patterns and motifs. We sourced some genuine contemporary Malian mud cloth fabric (not an easy find) and threw a couple of mud cloth-inspired cushions from local retailers into the mix. Each of the scatters had to be a different design and size.
