It seems the month of July is set to be a celebration of red, white, and blue. America celebrated their Independence Day on the 4th with their usual patriotic tricolour vigour, Andy Murray’s tennis triumph lead to surge in British nationalistic pride as he was the first Brit to win the Wimbledon Men’s Singles in over 77 years, and then this coming weekend (the 14th to be exact) the French will be celebrating Bastille Day.
Now, when creating a room using the red, white, and blue colour combo consider keeping the white colour ratio high with pops of the brighter colours – this will insure a fresh interior. Do not to overdo the red and blue. You also don’t necessarily have to go the patriotic route and slap a flag everywhere – red, white, and blue colouring is closely associated with nautical design. Incorporate a handful of stripes and nautical baubles in your room to give it that maritime flair!
Sometimes… ever so often, I have the tiniest bit of flag envy. Don’t get me wrong – I love the South African flag and everything it stands for… but jeez louise it sure is difficult to incorporate that multicoloured design into an attractive interior.

A we love a punch of bold colour and patriotism 😀
Nice, I’ve been itching all over those colours in my crochet basket! Can’t wait to have time to crochet our new ripped cotton nautical bathroom mats!
By the way, I’m ADORING those Lithography Tiles, and my birthday IS coming up… 😉
@howtoclimbamountain … if I bought you one of those tiles it would be the only gift you will get from me for 20 years – beautiful but expensive! 😦
