Hi, my name is Marica…and I am addicted to blue. I’m not ashamed to say it, whether it’s aqua, cobalt, indigo, robin’s egg, turquoise or ultramarine – blue attracts me like a magnet.
Blue is known for being a calming colour. It can be strong and steadfast (the deeper, darker hues) or light and friendly (the lighter, brighter hues). Did you know blue can help you sleep? Because of it’s calming effects is a perfect colour for bedrooms. However, too much blue could can just as easily depress and chill. In 1999 the wizards at Pantone named the light almost sky blue Cerulean the colour of the new millennium.
I found the following About.com explanation quite interesting:
“Blue conveys importance and confidence without being somber or sinister, hence the blue power suit of the corporate world and the blue uniforms of police officers. Long considered a corporate colour, blue, especially medium and darker blues, is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.”

Like Vicki Sleet says: “I lust that” that stuff. Yummy!!
I love the color blue too. Blue, in its many variations, is great to wear and also great to decorate with. Blue works well with so many other colors and is considered as basic as black in my book.
I totally agree – whilst writing this post I could not think of one single colour that would not work well when matched with a shade of blue.
